Debenhams conducted a poll to vote which is the most unforgettable red carpet dress of all time. And guess who made it to the top spot! It’s no other than Liz Hurley’s very unique ‘safety pin’ dress, designed by Versace.
Liz Hurly wore the dress during the Four Weddings and a Funeral premiere in 1994. She was just 29 years old then and so much inlove with Hugh Grant but stole the camera lenses away from the lead actor that night.
Debenhams spokesperson said, “Liz Hurley’s daring safety pin dress is one of the most famous black dresses worn on the red carpet, which made her a household name overnight.” It was indeed true. “At the time she was another unknown actress, more famous for being Hugh Grant’s girlfriend but by wearing ‘that dress’ she was soon had worldwide fame,” he added.
